The 'Get More Patients' Advice I Stopped Giving Dental Practices
For years my answer to how do I get more dental patients was spend more on ads. I stopped giving that advice once I saw what was actually happening to the leads practices already had.

The Problem
"How do I get more dental patients" is the question I hear most from owners in the first five minutes of a call, and for years the honest answer I gave was some version of spend more on ads and hope your front desk can keep up. That answer never sat right with me, because I kept watching practices spend more on marketing and see almost none of it turn into booked chairs.
What I Thought
I assumed the gap was lead volume. More inquiries, more calls, more form fills, and the number of new patients would follow. So early conversations were mostly about where to find more leads.
What Actually Happened
When I actually looked at what happened to the leads a practice already had, volume wasn't the bottleneck. A real share of inquiries were going unanswered for hours, sometimes days, and by the time someone called back, the patient had already booked with whoever answered first. More leads into a system that's already losing the ones it has doesn't fix anything. It just makes the leak bigger.
What I Learned
Getting more dental patients is a speed and follow-up problem before it's a marketing-spend problem. A practice answering every inquiry in minutes converts more of what it already has than a practice spending twice as much on ads but still taking hours to call back.
What I'm Building Now
That's why MTS starts with capturing and responding to the leads a practice already has before it ever talks about adding more of them. Fix the response time first, and a lot of we need more patients turns out to be we need to stop losing the ones already asking. Sometimes that's a faster callback from a real person, sometimes it's the AI Receptionist picking up on the first ring so nothing waits until Monday.

Every owner who looks at a HIPAA compliant AI receptionist asks what happens when it gets something wrong. Here's the rule I hold every part of MTS to because of that question.

I thought no-shows were a reminder problem. They're not, and the fix that actually worked looks nothing like sending more texts.
